Afro Shogunate

A time period equivalent to modern day gangs, the shogunate of Japan wage war which features deaths in the thousands as full blown soldiers fight in the search for street fame, credit, and to become Ō ten'nō gyangusutā, Imperial Gangster, the emperor of Japan aka the OOOG.

Shogunate ideology evolves and becomes more defined with their target goals being expanded on by each member of them. With everyone having their own motivations, who will truly follow through and who will serve their own interest?
Each season takes place over a generation of Afro Japanese historical fiction correlating to a dedicated decade in black history starting around the 1960’s. Fight choreography is based on motifs and pays homage to classic kung fu movies with the plot having influences from famed African American novels. The African tribes and peoples created are based on the peoples on the coast of West Africa. With the Japanese peoples of the time filling in for the subjugating class of Westerners that invented propagated and upheld chattel slavery. This alternative history leads the oppressed peoples to assimilating and creating a pidgin culture called type shit or dattebayo.

Long ago, on their quest for new land imperial japan captures africans from the west coast. During slavery the slaves eat the chicken livestock and because of that they’re stereotyped as loving chicken. Then a salmonella wave hits the Japanese slave owners and the due to the high rate of slaves who eat chicken they have a natural resistance. The death rates of the owners is ridiculous. The slaves see a chance to free themselves and overthrow Japan. The remaining Japanese owners evacuate to other lands in fear of repercussions or true just reparations.Those who stay are not thrown into slavery as the slaves can’t learn to organize and thus no government is formed. The Afro-Japanese now launch Japan into a feudal state where drugs and crimes are at an all time high. The public is uneducated and thus this creates a state of constant fear and irrationality upon the people.

Following the call of imperialism and conquest the post feudal Japanese empire begins the encroachment to lands captures africans from the west coast. Generation 1

The way the slaves launched the uprising was by a group called the Kuro pansāpātī or the black panther party. With love being a motivation for some the remaining slave owners gets the population hooked on drugs to try and destabilize them in an attempt to take back the country. The children of these leaders are musicians, rappers, and as the battles are happening we hear stanzas adjacent to artists quotes or referential to song names. We see fights using katanas, bows, arrows fused with African weapons. The outfits of these fighters wear mask and lower armor of both Japanese and African origin.

Generation 2

Now Japan will become divided and the drus will certain city states more than others. This drives the compassion for certain values and beliefs and is why there is more focus on free will and the good of “my people”. This leads to the establishments of gangs and factions. As philosophies develop people start to divide.

Generation 3

The remaining Kuro have disbanded and grown old. They’re children are now the leaders of their factions. The only one who remains is the nigga deprivation who traded his heart for immortatlity as long as his faction never falls. This is where the rappers start coming in.
